Political cartoonist for London Sunday Telegraph 1961-1979. Regular Punch contributor from 1974, producing illustrations, jokes, sports illustrations and TV caricatures. Theatre caricaturist for Tatler, 1970s, also social cartoonist for Spectator. In a fifty-five year career he has contributed to innumerable magazines and newspapers and illustrated around 70 books. Originals in the permanent collections of the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford), The Victoria & Albert Museum, The British Museum, The Cartoon Study Centre at the University of Kent at Canterbury; Sammlung Karikaturen & Cartoons, Basel; Muzeum Karykatury, Warsaw; National Museum of Australia, and the Rugby Museum. A founder member and former Chairman of the British Cartoonists’ Association, and of the Cartoon Art Trust. Also writes and talks cartooning until asked to stop. In 2002 he received a special ‘Grinny’, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nottingham Cartoon Festival. Is married with one wife, two grown-up children
and two grandchildren.
